ADS-L Transceiver Module

The ADS-L Transceiver Module is a compact, embedded multi-channel transceiver for electronic conspicuity. Based on a software-defined radio (SDR), it receives FLARM and ADS-L on all relevant channels at the same time and transmits FLARM, ADS-L M-band and ADS-L O-band HDR independently of each other.

Illustration of the ADS-L Transceiver Module with RF shield and castellated pads

It is the only solution on the market that monitors and receives all ADS-L channels and FLARM at the same time – without switching between channels. At just 0.4 W with all receive channels active, it needs only a fraction of the power of Linux-based SDR receivers. The module can be combined with the FLARM Atom SoC for a complete FLARM and ADS-L solution, or used on its own as a standalone transceiver.

The module is designed for integration into avionics and other devices and complies with the EASA ADS-L SRD860 Issue 2 specification. The module is expected to be available in mid-2027.

Product highlights

  • Concurrent reception of FLARM and ADS-L on six channels
  • Independent transmission of FLARM, ADS-L M-band and ADS-L O-band HDR
  • Compliant with EASA ADS-L SRD860 Issue 2
  • High receiver sensitivity down to −112 dBm
  • Up to 27 dBm transmit power
  • Low power: 0.4 W with all receive channels active
  • Compact 28 × 28 mm module with RF shield
  • Simple integration via UART or SPI
  • ETSI EN 300 220-2 pre-certification successful

Integration

The module connects to a 50 Ω antenna via a SAW-filtered, ESD-protected RF pad and to the host system via UART or SPI. The I/O level is set by the host, so the module fits into a wide range of designs. Thanks to its castellated pads and integrated RF shield, it can be soldered directly onto the host PCB.
