Press release: FLARM announces Daniel Hoffmann as General Manager

FLARM Technology GmbH today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Daniel Hoffmann as General Manager effective immediately.

FLARM Technology is the producer of the award-winning airborne collision avoidance system with the same name. The company has undergone rapid growth thanks to the ever-increasing popularity of their system. Initially developed for the glider community, powered aircraft operators are showing an increasing interest in FLARM since it greatly reduces the risk of mid-air collisions. In contrast to the bulky and expensive TCAS system used in airliners, FLARM has been designed with the flight characteristics of smaller aircraft in mind. The newly certified PowerFLARM devices are additionally ideally suited for General Aviation, since they also issue collision warnings for transponder and ADS-B equipped aircraft.

Daniel Hoffmann has a strong background in aviation. Originally an airline pilot and flight instructor, he has held a variety of leadership positions. As CEO of Rnav.nu, he led the company’s marketing strategy initiatives and became market leader within a short time. Hoffmann has also many years of experience in quality and safety management, including as executive trainer and management consultant.

“I am honored to have been chosen by the board to lead FLARM into the next exciting era of the Company”, said Daniel Hoffmann. “The innovative technology that FLARM has developed has already helped to save many lives. I’m excited to join such a dynamic and ambitious organization. My focus will initially be to consolidate our value proposition and strengthen our distribution network”.

“After a rigorous selection process Daniel emerged as the outstanding candidate to lead FLARM”, said Urs Rothacher, FLARM Technology’s Chairman. He brings a great depth of knowledge and experience in aviation and I’m delighted to welcome him on behalf of our team.”
